Description
Charming nature scene of a praying mantis perched on the leaf of a gourd vine. A small gourd hangs at right with a yellow and white blossom peeking from behind a leaf at top center. A handsome Meiji era design. Beautifully drawn with flowing, calligraphic line work and soft coloring, giving it the look of ink and wash paintings.
Possibly an insigned work by Bairei Kono based on stylistic similarities.

The printed image is 7.75" by 10.5" with full dimensions of 10.25" by 13". Clean verso with no traces of residue or backing, no discoloration, wrinkles, etc. at all in the paper.
