April 2023 exhibit : Women & Rituals, Great & Small

Moonlit Sea Prints of Easthampton MA presents its April exhibition, “Women & Rituals, Great & Small”, showcasing the works of Ogata Gekkō, Hiroshi Yoshida, Eisho Narazaki, Shinsui Itō, Shiro Kasamatsu, and more.
Our featured artists celebrate grand public rituals, and the smaller rituals conducted in private or domestic settings. Discover prints depicting elaborate ceremonies and festivals, as well the intricate beauty routines practiced by women in preparation. Explore many of the spiritual traditions of Japan through images of magnificent temples and statues, and the ghosts and spirits of popular stories. Each tradition and ritual, preeminent or understated, practiced daily or yearly, reveals fascinating insight into the exploration of culture.
This exhibit was curated through our internship by Laney Goodrich, Mt Holyoke College class of 2024.
Opening Thursday, April 13th from 5pm to 8pm.
Open Monday – Friday, 10am-2pm by appointment only.
